Join a worldwide snowball fight at LEGO stores now

A pair of LEGO stores have joined forces for a globe-spanning snowball fight where there can be only one winner, at least per match.

The LEGO flagship stores in Leicester Square, London and Fifth Avenue, New York, are teaming up for the Big LEGO Snow Throw. The brand new holiday installation will be in a street-facing window of each store and task a player in London and New York to battle and see who can throw the most digital snowballs, rack up the most points and win.

Based on the trailer showcased on social media, the Big LEGO Snow Throw seems to need a player at both stores to play. However, the time zone differences may limit its playtime over a day, provided that’s the case. It could be that a team on each end is not required though.

The video also offers a look at the Leicester Square LEGO store’s Christmas displays, in case you’re planning on visiting at some point this holiday season and want a taste of what to expect.

It’s not the first time that LEGO stores have featured interactive games as a LEGO Ideas contest held back in 2021 saw arcade cabinets with a fan-designed game added to select LEGO stores. However, they weren’t quite as interactive as this globe-spanning game.

Only two LEGO stores are included in the big LEGO Snow Throw and there’s no confirmation of when it will end. However, it seems likely that they are only going to be up as long as the Christmas decorations are.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
