Jurassic World Rebirth trailer offers clues for summer LEGO sets

Jurassic World Rebirth has got its first full trailer and there’s already potential fodder for LEGO Jurassic World summer sets.

With five sets rumoured for the summer and one more said to be coming at some point this year, some of the LEGO Jurassic World sets still to come in 2025 will surely be based on the upcoming movie, Jurassic World Rebirth. The film sees a group of scientists and explorers return to the original Jurassic Park island, seeking to harvest something from the dinosaurs that will help in a new miracle drug to save human lives.

In terms of scenery, that means plenty of natural vistas, abandoned labs, and – of course – dinosaurs. Here’s what we’re hoping to see, based on the early look at the movie ahead of its premiere on July 2.

Mountain area

Much of the trailer focuses on dramatic cliffs and mountains, home to flying dinosaurs and covered in lush plants. While an entire cliff face might be unrealistic, a section of the cliff or perhaps a vehicle that the group uses to traverse the landscape could be a logical way to represent the island.

Depicting such a scene can be tricky for a play-focused set but putting the focus on the vehicles and the dinosaurs, like LEGO Avatar 75573 Floating Mountains: Site 26 & RDA Samson did to replicate Pandora’s floating mountains, could be one way forward.

Nest

Otherwise, the LEGO Jurassic World designers need to zoom into the cliffs, perhaps depicting the nests tucked into the cliff faces. These appear to be abandoned man-made spaces, with square columns, but the group of explorers dares to enter them while being used as dinosaur nests. This contained space would be easier to render in LEGO bricks and also provide an opportunity for a dinosaur egg element.

Boat and mosasaur

Much of the trailer is spent either at sea or at what looks like a dock, so a boat feels like a must. Pair it with an aquatic dinosaur, like the mososaurs pictured above, and you’ve got yourself an excellent standalone playset.

New prints and molds

Naturally, there were various glimpses or new and returning dinosaurs. Most LEGO Jurassic World waves bring out a new dinosaur design, or a new print to represent some of the creatures’ diverse markings, like the orange and black frills around the face of this dinosaur.

You can also just about spot a flying vehicle of some kind in the top right of that picture, which appears to be the dominant mode of transport for the group. As a centrepiece set that would be instantly recognisable from the movie, that would be a strong contender.

Rumoured details are low on the ground for the LEGO Jurassic World summer wave, so any or all of this could be true – but bear in mind that it’s just speculation right now.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
