King-sized LEGO Super Mario Bowser confirmed for SDCC 2022

More details of the giant LEGO Super Mario Bowser model due to appear at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 have been revealed.

Following last week’s not-so-subtle tease on social media, the LEGO Group has now confirmed that a super-sized model of Bowser will indeed be appearing at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Whilst we knew the display piece would be huge, we had no idea quite how monstrous it would actually be.

The LEGO Group previously revealed that the massive Bowser model will be a whopping 14 feet tall and constructed from a staggering 663,900 bricks. In addition, King Koopa will also feature an interactive element allowing the figure to unleash his trademark fiery roar.

In a follow-up post on social media today, the LEGO Group released yet another short tease, revealing a first full look at the Bowser model. The brick-built statue will be fully animated and capable of menacing Con attendees with moving mouth, eyebrows, head, arms and fingers. We suspect the king-sized Bowser model will be located at the LEGO Group’s 2829 stand.

San Diego Comic-Con will be taking place from July 21 to 24, with the LEGO Group also taking part in two panels at the event. 71411 The Mighty Bowser will be released on October 1 on LEGO.com and in stores priced at £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99.
