LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower finds new use for City piece

LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower has found a new use for one of the most recent additions to LEGO City, switching concrete for grass.

In 2021, LEGO City introduced a new form of road plates instead of the older vacuum-formed baseplates. Since then, they’ve mostly been limited to LEGO City or otherwise used as concrete or similarly rocky elements, with an exception made for sand and water in LEGO City, though they’ve still been mostly contained to the original theme.

However, that changes in 10307 Eiffel Tower with the designers opting for a decorated base with grass rather than concrete. For the grass, the bigger LEGO City road plates have been used in a new green colour, as you can tell by the arrangement of the greenery. The paths in between reuse the smaller LEGO City road plates too.

Previously, these road plates have been used mostly for roads in LEGO City, acting as a base for everything from skate parks to crossings.

However, LEGO City’s road plates have centred outside of the original theme once before Icons’ 10307 Eiffel Tower as one was used as part of the base that holds 76209 Thor’s Hammer.

10307 Eiffel Tower will be available from Black Friday, or November 25, at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores for £554.99 / $679.99 / €629.99 with the road plates forming just a few of the 10,001 included pieces.
