First copies of LEGO 2024 employee gift appearing on secondary market

It’s taken a little longer than usual, but the first copies of the LEGO Group’s 2024 employee gift have started to appear on the secondary market.

Every year, the LEGO Group creates and disseminates an exclusive holiday gift for its employees. That includes every single member of staff in its product chain, from designers to retail workers – and as a result, copies inevitably end up on the secondary market for others to purchase. 2024’s gift was a little late coming, but it’s finally started to show up online, giving us a clear look at its contents.

The 1,601-piece model includes an assortment of buildable animals along with a brick-built 2x2 element. Each of the creatures represents the national animal of the countries in which the LEGO Group currently has a factory, from Vietnam’s water buffalo to Denmark’s mute swan. You can find a handful of listings over on eBay from sellers in Hungary, with prices averaging around $200 (or around £163). One product listing describes them as pre-orders available from January 20, suggesting that’s when the set may be finding its way into the hands of LEGO employees – though Instagram user rarest_lego_minifigures already has his hands on a physical copy, so at least some are out in the wild.
