LEGO 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua GWP now available

A new retro LEGO gift-with-purchase set is now available in the shape of the System-based 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua.

Fans of the BIONICLE theme have cause to celebrate today as a new LEGO GWP is now available in the UK and Europe – one that shines a spotlight on the theme’s enduring popularity over the past 20 years.

40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua is a 219-piece set that features two brick-built classic constraction characters, plus a surfboard and display stand for Tahu – the leader of the original six Toa Mata. The latest LEGO GWP can be obtained for free with spends of £95 / $100 / €100 and over, although only when purchasing City, Monkie Kid, Friends, Classic, NINJAGO, DOTS and Creator 3-in-1 sets.

Packaged in an 18+ labelled box, 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua recreates the overall look of the classic characters, although original elements have been replaced with alternative System pieces in an attempt to emulate the basic appearance of the figures.

George Gilliatt, one of the LEGO designers responsible for the creation of 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua, took to Twitter yesterday in advance of the release of the latest GWP set with a short video that sums up his excitement about the release.

40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua is available in the UK and Europe starting today with qualifying purchases of £95 / $100 / €100 or more made from the official online store and in LEGO Stores.
