LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei gift-with-purchase review

LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei is yet another high-quality gift-with-purchase to come out of the LEGO Group this year.

Available from November 1 through to November 16, or while stocks last, LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei is free with all LEGO purchases of £115 / $130 / €130 or more at LEGO.com or in LEGO Stores.

For that mid-range qualifying spend you’ll receive a 307-piece diorama, similar in vein to last year’s 40579 Eiffel’s Apartment that released in promotion with LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower. 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei, though, is released under the Ideas moniker, and is based on Jessica Kiaei / Firecracker_’s winning submission to the Ideas platform’s STEM challenge from last year.

And rather pleasingly, LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei hasn’t strayed too far from Jessica’s original submission, from incorporating the desk and three-panel wall layout to the various details that speak to Galileo’s ground-breaking observational astronomy work in the late 16th and early 17th century. The clever play feature that includes a little earth revolving around a sun that can be turned by a gear built into the base is also still present, but has been moved to the back of the model for a cleaner aesthetic up front.

LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei at once stays very true to the original concept and improves upon it in subtle but effective ways, making for a high-quality, interesting and wholly relevant gift-with-purchase this autumn.

LEGO Ideas 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei is available from November 1 to November 16, or while stocks last, awarded free with LEGO purchases of £115 / $130 / €130 or more at LEGO.com or in LEGO Stores.
