LEGO 40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci GWP review

40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci packs a lot into a small gift-with-purchase to offer an apt celebration of the Italian polymath.

From June 19 to 28, or while stocks last, LEGO.com and LEGO Store shoppers spending £135 / $150 / €150 or more will receive a copy of 40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci.

As the name indicates, this 251-piece set collects together some of the notable achievements from the Italian polymath of the High Renaissance across multiple fields including art, engineering, science and architecture.

There are already two of Leonardo’s most famous accomplishments immortalised in LEGO sets, in the form of 10363 Leonardo da Vinci’s Flying Machine and 31213 Mona Lisa, and both are also referenced in this gift-with-purchase in minifigure scale – the print for the Mona Lisa in particular is a fine detail to include, so much so that that piece by itself may justify the spend to pick this GWP up, for a few of us.

Such is the variety and depth of Da Vinci’s work, this promotional set is packed with odds and ends that try to go some way to referencing his areas of expertise, whilst the design and presentation is very similar to the likes of 40766 Tribute to Jane Austen’s Books, 40595 Tribute to Galileo Galilei and even 40690 Tribute to Jules Verne's Books.

40902 Tribute to Leonardo da Vinci is available from June 19 to 28, while stocks last, for shoppers spending £135 / $150 / €150 or more at LEGO.com or in LEGO Stores.

This set was provided by the LEGO Group for review purposes.
