The Ford F-150 Raptor is part of Ford’s line of high performance pickup trucks. Designed as a street-legal analogue to off-road racing trucks, they boast features like four-wheel drive, all-terrain tyres and powerful engines.

While you might not be going on a true off-road adventure with this set, 42126 Ford F-150 Raptor still has plenty to recommend it. In addition to commonplace LEGO Technic features such as working steering and engine pistons, this LEGO Technic truck has working suspension on all four wheels. Its rear wheels also boast a complex live axle assembly, allowing it to handle complex terrain more easily.

Once assembled, the truck measures 42cm long and boasts a highly accessible interior. Four opening doors (two on each side) let you take a look at the truck’s driver and passenger compartments, which offers a steering wheel and stickered dashboard. The bonnet of the truck can also be raised up to reveal the moving engine pistons. Stickered and printed detail is provided to add some Ford branding to the model, making it clear where the set’s inspiration comes from.

In short, this is a solid all-rounder release in the LEGO Technic line – and a great addition to any LEGO Technic collection. It’s officially retiring by the end of this year, so don’t delay if you’re interested in purchasing it.
