LEGO and The Savoy present the Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas

On the first rebuild of Christmas, Santa gave to me…

Every year, the Savoy hotel in London wows guests by decorating the hotel with incredible themed Christmas decorations. For 2019, the hotel has collaborated with the LEGO Group for the Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas, part of the Rebuild the World campaign that is celebrating creativity.

The classic Twelve Days of Christmas song has been re-imagined with each line having a LEGO twist. Until January 3, visitors to the Savoy can enjoy each of the 12 builds, which are found in the lobby and entranceway to the venue.

Build to Give, the LEGO Group’s annual charity drive, also ties in with the Christmas decorations. Guests can build a LEGO ornament and for every one that is shared on social media, the LEGO Group will donate a set to a child in need of play this holiday.

Here are the Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas…

On the first rebuild of Christmas, Santa built for me… a dragon shaped Christmas tree.

On the second rebuild of Christmas, oh what did I see? A princess rocket castle.

On the third rebuild of Christmas, dressed elegantly… a tea drinking lion.

On the fourth rebuild of Christmas, ready to sight-see… a shark land-exploring.

On the fifth rebuild of Christmas, a sleigh ride urgency! Santa’s new wheels.

On the sixth rebuild of Christmas, a fishy mystery… a catfish a-purring.

On the seventh rebuild of Christmas, revenge of the veggies… carrots rabbit chasing.

On the eight rebuild of Christmas bananas fell from trees… monkey workers peeling.

On the ninth rebuild of Christmas a treehouse residency… little trees a-living.

On the tenth rebuild of Christmas, a trunk delivery… elephant water-hosing.

On the eleventh rebuild of Christmas, a graffiti fun party… people palace-painting.

On the twelfth rebuild of Christmas build with generosity… build to give.

The Savoy’s florist Belinda Bowles and carpenter Sam beer collaborated with the LEGO Group on the installation. In total, the displays use 372,931 bricks and took 2,200 hours to complete.

For the launch of the decorations, carollers appeared in the hotel lobby to sing the special LEGO version of the classic Christmas tune. Room 24 was also open for the occasion, with the suite having been set up for a special guest indeed. Through an upcoming promotion, one lucky family will be able to stay in the LEGO themed room that has been decorated with Santa Claus himself in mind.

“We’ve been blown away by the incredible creativity and passion brought to the table by the LEGO brick designers so far and are excited to be able to reveal the decorations for all to enjoy,” said Ian Kidd, The Savoy’s Hotel Manager.

The Twelve Rebuilds of Christmas will be on display at The Savoy, London, until January 3, 2020.
