LEGO announces new board game that combines Pictionary with bricks

The next step in the LEGO Group’s partnership with Asmodee has just been announced, with a second board game called Brick Like This!

Building on the multi-year partnership that the LEGO Group and Asmodee announced last year that began with LEGO Monkey Palace, the companies have now announced the second joint project, titled Brick Like This! It’s described as a family-friendly party game where teams compete to finish their LEGO models first, based on a teammate describing the build and another constructing it.

Created by game designer Luca Bellini, Brick Like This! is based on a previously published game now reimagined to include LEGO.

“With Brick Like This!, you can enjoy the familiarity of Lego Bricks as an integrated part of a board game in a great combination that really lets everyone join in and have fun at the same time,” said Birgitte Bülow, head of Dotted Games, the Asmodee studio dedicated to the LEGO partnership.

“Our goal when building the portfolio of LEGO board games is to be able to offer as many different players as possible a great game experience,” continued Jaume Fabregat, Board Games lead at LEGO Publishing. “With Brick Like This!, we are offering a very easy-to-learn game that can be played with all types of players.”

The game will be officially revealed to retailers and industry partners at the London Toy Fair and Nuremberg Toy Fair this January, before releasing to purchase from August 1 Gen Con, the largest board game convention in North America, and at other third-party retailers globally.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
