One of the largest LEGO Architecture sets to date will be launching next month in the impressive shape of 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris.
LEGO Architecture fans will have plenty to get excited about next month when one of the theme’s largest models to date will be released. The LEGO Group has today officially revealed 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris, a 4,383-piece build that will be priced at £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 when it launches on June 1, 2024.
Measuring over 33cm high, 22cm wide and 41cm deep, 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris has been designed by Rok Žgalin Kobe who was also responsible for the creation of another brick-built Parisian landmark, 10307 Eiffel Tower.
The LEGO Architecture set and its accompanying instruction manual aim to offer an altogether different building experience, tracing the evolution of the cathedral from when the first stone was laid in 1163, through architect Viollet-le-Duc’s redesign work in the 19th century up to its majestic appearance in 2019 before the devastating fire.
21061 Notre-Dame de Paris features a removable roof, allowing access to a detailed interior complete with rose windows, columns, gothic arches, the famous two bell towers, a nameplate, trees along one side of the cathedral and much more.
“In designing the LEGO Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris, we tried to bring it to life by not only capturing its outward appearance, but the way and the stages in which the original was build,” explains Rok Žgalin Kobe. "We wanted LEGO fans to retrace the architectural journey and evolution of this landmark during its construction, to encourage a deeper appreciation for its real-life counterpart.”
