LEGO Architecture 21062 Trevi Fountain officially revealed

LEGO Architecture 21062 Trevi Fountain has been officially revealed in full, with a gallery of images and confirmed international prices.

Following an early sneak peek in a LEGO catalogue, 21062 Trevi Fountain has now officially been revealed. Made up of 1,880 pieces, the next LEGO Architecture set recreates the iconic water feature from Rome, using warm white, tan and pink bricks. 21062 Trevi Fountain will be available to buy for £139.99 in the UK, $159.99 in the US, and €159.99 in Europe from March 1.

It picks out authentic details from the real fountain, including minifigures and microsofigurs for the statues and sculptures, transparent blue pieces for the water, and the Palazzo Poli facade, complete with the papal crest.

The real Trevi Fountain dates back to the 18th century, originally designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and finally completed by a team led by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762. It can be found in Rome’s Piazza di Trevi, after recently going through some reconstruction work.

There are various myths associated with the fountain, including superstitions around throwing coins. If you throw one coin, you will return to Rome. Two coins mean you will fall in love with an attractive Italian, while three coins mean you will marry the person that you met. You could quite easily add such coins to the water alongside the blue elements for an authentic Trevi look.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
