LEGO Art 31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers officially revealed
LEGO Art is building on LEGO Ideas’ Vincent van Gogh set with its own take on the Dutch artist’s iconic Sunflowers painting in 2025.
Officially revealed today, 31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers is LEGO Art’s latest attempt to recreate a legendary piece of real-life art, following on from 2024’s 31213 Mona Lisa and 2023’s 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave. The 2,615-piece set launches March 1, 2025 and will retail for £169.99 in the UK, $199.99 in the US and from €199.99 in Europe. It should be available to pre-order from LEGO.com from today.
The finished model uses studs sparingly across the relatively clean backdrop, while bringing out the texture of the sunflowers themselves in a three-dimensional relief pattern – not unlike its recent contemporaries under the LEGO Art banner. According to the press release, it focuses on ‘three radiant shades of yellow’, as well as the artist’s ‘famous use of light and shade’, to capture a LEGO version of the original 1889 painting.

“Working on one of the world’s most famous paintings can be quite daunting, but recreating Sunflowers has been a dream come true,” said LEGO designer Stijn Oom. “We collaborated closely with the Van Gogh Museum and its experts, delving into the details to meticulously craft a 3D version of the original artwork.
“One of the most challenging yet crucial aspects was translating the impasto effect into LEGO bricks while preserving the painting’s asymmetrical yet balanced composition. We are incredibly proud of the result and hope our fans enjoy building it as much as we enjoyed bringing Van Gogh’s masterpiece to life.”
“It was wonderful to see how the LEGO Group and the experts of our museum have collaborated with such attention to detail and appreciation for the original artwork,” added Rob Groot, Managing Director of the Van Gogh Museum. “We hope this LEGO set will inspire and engage new audiences with the art and life story of Vincent Van Gogh.”

Like many previous LEGO Art sets, 31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers will be accompanied by a specially-created LEGO podcast to listen to while assembling the model, this time featuring designer Stijn and Van Gogh Museum Senior Curator Nienke Bakker. The podcast will cover both the collaboration that brought the set to life and the story of Vincent van Gogh’s time painting sunflowers.
The LEGO Group has also created a pair of ‘lifestyle brick replicas’ of the painting, which will apparently go on permanent display at the LEGO Store Amsterdam and the Van Gogh Museum from March 1. Images of those replicas were not provided ahead of time, so it’s tricky to say what they might look like – and how they might differ from the set itself, which could probably also be called a brick replica of the painting.
In addition to those replicas, a brick-built LEGO installation is going on display at the Van Gogh Museum from June through August, before moving to LEGO House Billund and LEGO World, Utrecht. A virtual tour will also be available online for those who can’t make it in person. Finally, you’ll be able to get your copy of 31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers signed by designer Stijn Oom at the LEGO Store Amsterdam on March 1 and the LEGO Store Marseille on March 2.
31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers debuts in LEGO Stores and at LEGO.com on March 1, 2025 for £169.99 / $199.99 / €199.99 and is available to pre-order now.
