LEGO Avatar sets include interactive weapons designed for play as well as display
Pictures from the upcoming wave of LEGO Avatar sets reveal some unusual Na’vi weapon pieces for extra play possibilities.
Five new sets were revealed, including 75576 Skimwing Adventure, 75575 Ilu Discovery, and 75577 Mako Submarine. Both 75576 and 75575 include recoloured spearhead elements, in a translucent light blue. While the spearhead has appeared in various colours before now, only 75187 BB-8 offers a blue one – making these sets a great choice for collectors of unusual LEGO parts.
The spears themselves are long enough to fit some of the Na’vi’s longer limbs. It looks as though there are two variations on the spear as well, with 75576 including a double-ended option.
On top of the new spears, 75577 Mako Submarine includes a crossbow that looks as though you’ll be able to actually fire it, similar to LEGO Marvel 76105 The Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition, for example. This set’s main build, the submarine, also includes two opening cockpits and three movable propellers, highlighting the ability to play and re-enact scenes from the upcoming sequel, as well as display the set.
While we don’t yet know how closely the sets match the film, with only one trailer released ahead of Avatar: The Way of Water’s December 22 premiere date, it seems like there’ll be plenty to recreate with these sets.
Here’s a full list of every LEGO Avatar set attached to the sequel film and queued up for release next year.
