LEGO Back to the Future 10290 DeLorean rumoured for 2021 release
The LEGO Group may be going back to the future later this year, with a new Creator Expert-scale DeLorean rumoured for a 2021 release.
Instagram user brick_clicker claims that the set will be numbered 10290, placing it firmly in the scope of the LEGO Group’s 18+ range. That would position it as the perfect follow-up to last year’s 10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1, which came in at 2,352 pieces for £179.99 / $199.99 / €199.99.
If this rumour pans out as expected, however, 10290 DeLorean will likely come in a good bit smaller than its fellow ‘80s icon. According to brick_clicker, the Back to the Future-themed model should retail for around $130. That’s $20 less than the recently-released 10295 Porsche 911, to give you some sense of the scale it may be aiming for – but it would still be much bigger than Ideas’ 21103 The DeLorean Time Machine.
There’s not much else to go on yet beyond a tentative release date of September 2021, but even the original source of this rumour has attached a question mark to that detail, so don’t put too much stock in it for now. Nor should you place too much weight in 10290 DeLorean’s existence in general – at least until the LEGO Group confirms otherwise.
