LEGO BrickLink Series 11 teases 'new things on the horizon'

The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 11 set reveal at Brickworld Chicago included an easily-missable hint at something new for Castle next year.

The LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 11 finalist announcement panel took place at Brickworld Chicago yesterday, featuring plenty of insight into all five upcoming models. The reveal segment for _TLG's Royal Nest has something that Castle fans will want to hear.

"There are a lot of little, fun details hidden throughout the model that I think people will really like to see once the final model is done," explained Head of the BrickLink Designer Program Alex Kastelic. "We'll spend the next five weeks or so working on the models and really adding a lot of creative detail and more minifigures and all the things that you love.

"We've got a lot of fun things coming for this model, so stay tuned for next year. Similarly, there are some new things on the horizon that we'll be able to take advantage of, which is a lot of fun"

CPAFOL chimes in with speculation that these might be new castle things, which Alex does not refute. The panel then moves on to the next reveal.

Precisely what these new things are was not explained, but we can discern that they're coming by June 1, 2027, when crowdfunding for Royal Nest will start. It's something that will be useful for Castle creation, but whether that is new minifigures, new elements, new animal figures, or something else entirely is unknown.

BrickLink Designer Program sets typically only have minor changes between the fan design and final product, but it would appear that more sweeping differences are on the table for Royal Nest. Watch this space for when we find out more in May of next year.
