LEGO Carousel GWP may be returning in 2024

A LEGO Carousel gift-with-purchase set previously only available in Japan may be getting a wider release at some point in 2024.

Back in 2021, a LEGO promotional offer went live in Japan, with 5006745 Carousel available as a free GWP to (then) VIP members who spent over ¥6500. The model was released to commemorate Japanese builders being able to buy from LEGO.com for the first time and featured a small stand with a mechanism inside to spin a colourful duck-based carousel attraction.

For those who missed out on the promotional set or paid a high price for it on the secondary market, the good news is that a version of the build may be on its way at some point in 2024. Brickset has revealed a first look and initial details of 6512272 Carousel, a 136-piece model that’s listed as an upcoming GWP for this year.

The only image of the set shows it to be an almost perfect match for the Japanese exclusive, but with one small change. A plaque on the previous promotional model read ‘Japan 2021’, although that’s now been replaced with a plain tile on 5006745 Carousel. It’s a subtle difference, but it could mean the build might appear as a future GWP or LEGO Insiders reward in 2024.

Two current LEGO GWPs are currently still available, with 40682 Spring Garden House and 30668 Easter Bunny with Colorful Eggs up for grabs with qualifying spends until March 31, while stocks last.
