LEGO unveils collection of fan-made LGBTQIA+ builds
Titled the A-Z of Awesome, the collection of fan-made LEGO builds will soon be on display for all to see in the LEGO House in Billund.
In a video shared to Instagram, the LEGO Group has unveiled a collection of LEGO builds, each telling ‘a personal interpretation of a meaningful word’ from the LGBTQIA+ community. Designed to be an alphabet of builds created by LGBTQIA+ LEGO fans (also known as GayFOLS, the collection is titled the A-Z of Awesome.
“Each build represents a personal interpretation of a meaningful word from the community,” explained the LEGO Group in the caption below the video.
In the video, the LEGO Group invited LGBTQIA+ families to see the A-Z of Awesome, with several parents seeing minifigure versions of families that looked like their own family units.
“For my children to see something that’s aimed at them, they haven’t had that experience before,” said one parent. “It’s pretty special.”
You can also see these builds in person for yourself, with the full A-Z of Awesome on display in the LEGO House in Billund from May 24, 2023. Find out more and see all of the builds from the collection by heading to the LEGO Group’s official website here.
