New LEGO comic series from Skybound to be revealed this month

The first details for the LEGO Group’s comic-based partnership with Skybound Entertainment are set to be announced soon at an upcoming expo.

As announced on Twitter by Skybound Entertainment, the Skybound Xpo event will start later this month. This marks a time in the year when the company can announce and reveal various projects currently in production, from tabletop board games to the first details on the brick-based comics mentioned earlier in 2021.

At the time of writing, little is known about the LEGO Group’s partnership with Skybound Entertainment other than that it will be bringing us a series of comic books.

However, the press release for the event does offer information for when we can expect more news as well as confirming that these comics will be based in a ‘brand-new comic world’ and feature a returning character.

Whether that means an alternate version of popular licenses or a completely original idea is unknown, but a previous announcement did mention diving into ‘the LEGO Group’s vast library of intellectual property’.

You can expect to hear more about the Skybound LEGO comics on October 29 at 10am PT as part of Skybound Xpo.

The selection of guests attending the LEGO panel includes Writer/Artist Tri Vuong, Skybound Editor in Chief Sean Mackiewicz, Daniel Konstanski, Hayley Wolfe LEGO NINJAGO creator Tommy Andreasen and Producer Tommy Kalmar.

The event will be held virtually, meaning you’ll be able to tune in via Skybound Entertainment’s YouTube and Twitch channels later this month.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
