LEGO CON weekend event kicks off in Australia today

Following a successful 2022 virtual show last month, a physical LEGO CON event will be taking place in Australia this weekend.

LEGO CON 2022 took place in June, with the second annual event proving to be much more of an overall success than its predecessor. As well as celebrity guests, building challenges and 90th Anniversary celebrations, the LEGO Group used the event to reveal a number of upcoming sets including 75574 Toruk Makto & Tree of Souls, 10497 Galaxy Explorer and 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle.

The LEGO Group’s Australian division will be keeping the LEGO CON theme going this weekend, with a physical event planned from July 9 to 10. Taking place at the Sydney Showgrounds, the experience will be hosted by Ryan McNaught, Australian LEGO Certified Professional and judge of LEGO MASTERS Australia.

No new product announcements are expected at the live LEGO CON showcase, but existing models and interactive challenges aimed at younger builders will be available. Visitors to the event will also be able to check out a life-sized LEGO Formula 1 McLaren car model that recently appeared at the Australian Grand Prix.
