LEGO will be at SDCC 2025, and chances of exclusives are high

The LEGO Group is now confirmed to be putting in an appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and chances are high that it will have at least a couple of exclusive items up for grabs.

While the age of SDCC-exclusive superhero minifigures is well and truly behind us, the LEGO Group has slowly ramped up the number of event-exclusive items on offer over the past couple of years. In 2023, the NINJAGO team handed out an exclusive Baby Riyu figure to panel attendees, while in 2024 visitors could get their hands on an exclusive Space patch and LEGO MASTERS minifigure.

Those curios were never likely to command the same eye-watering aftermarket sums as Sheriff Deadpool, Spider-Woman and so on, but still provided neat little souvenirs for convention-goers – effectively striking a happy middle ground with show exclusives. With that in mind, it feels like a safe bet to expect the LEGO Group will bring something similarly exclusive to SDCC 2025.

The floor plan for the show’s Exhibit Hall went live on the official San Diego Comic-Con website this week, confirming that the LEGO Group will again be in attendance, occupying booth #2829 slap bang in the middle of the convention. And for those who can’t make it in person, touring the booth virtually will probably be more interesting than the exclusives.

Last year’s booth was themed around LEGO Space, with giant builds, activities and building experiences on offer. Also on display were a handful of brand new and upcoming sets, several of which were revealed for the first time at (or in tandem with) San Diego Comic-Con, so there could well be more reveals on the cards this year.

San Diego Comic-Con 2025 takes place from Thursday, July 24 to Sunday, July 27.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
