LEGO DC Arkham Asylum piece count points toward modular set

A new piece count and price for the rumoured LEGO DC Arkham Asylum 2025 set point towards a particular type of 18+ LEGO set.

An update to the rumoured 76300 Arkham Asylum from the usually-reliable Clay_Bricks over on Reddit has added a lower price and piece count to previous rumoured details, claiming a price of $299.99 for 2,953 elements.

While all of this is to be taken with caution, that’s considerably bigger than any of the three previous LEGO Batman Arkham Asylum models, but these were aimed at a younger audience, while the rumoured 2025 set is said to be an 18+ creation.

2,953 pieces is in the specific range of a popular kind of LEGO set, which has recently embraced unofficial licensed superhero entries – the Modular Buildings Collection.

Many of the recent modular buildings, including wider builds such as 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion and 910034 Brick Cross Train Station, are around the 2,900-piece mark, and Arkham Asylum would theoretically fit as well as the X-Mansion does into a modular street – both are usually featured in isolated areas away from cities.

Whether the rumoured 76300 Arkham Asylum will be the DC version of 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion or not, the piece count and price are said to be suspiciously close to that of the licensed modular buildings.

76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion costs £289.99/$329.99/€329.99 with 10 minifigures, one X-Mansion, and a couple of side builds, which could translate into Arkham Asylum and a vehicle similar to the last two LEGO Arkham Asylum sets. For further comparison, 76178 Daily Bugle has 3,772 pieces for £299.99 / $349.99 / €349.99.

We’ll have to take everything with caution until an official announcement surfaces, but the first LEGO DC modular building may be a genuine possibility later this year, looking at the piece count and price compared to recent sets. There are similarly pieced sets that don’t cover modular buildings, but they’re notably less common.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
