LEGO DC is off to a slow start in 2023, so far
It’s no secret that 2022 wasn’t an expansive year for DC, but it at least started straight away with a full range of sets, unlike 2023 so far.
A range of LEGO keyrings were recently revealed on LEGO.com, including two for DC, under the Batman range. At the time of writing, that’s it for LEGO DC in 2023 and unless there’s at least one set yet to be revealed in the next few weeks, that appears to be it for the very start of the new year.

The reasoning behind the slow year for LEGO DC in 2022 has been explained already and essentially, it’s down to a lack of source material in the film industry.
However, much of Marvel’s 2023 sets are based on the comics including 76244 Miles Morales vs. Morbius (though that likely has some film inspiration), 76245 Ghost Rider Mech & Bike, 76241 Hulk Mech Armor, 76242 Thanos Mech Armor and 76243 Rocket Mech Armor.
Whatever the reason for 2023, it may be that January isn’t the designer’s focus or there are some surprises still to come. For now though, it looks like LEGO DC is off to a slow start in 2023, at least compared to Marvel. There may be some hope on the horizon as DC Studios is undergoing a change in leadership at present with major changes to the film slate reported.
