Newly-registered LEGO element could add weight to UCS Jango Fett ship

A rumour related to the LEGO Star Wars UCS set due for release around May the 4th could be looking more likely, thanks to a newly-registered element.

Rumours are already circulating about this year's May the 4th UCS set, with reliable Instagram user maxbautde reporting it will be 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship. While we won't know for sure what's on the way until we get an official reveal from the LEGO Group, that rumour has started to look more likely thanks to a new cockpit element registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

The LEGO Group registers designs for new elements as and when required but this one is perfect for a potential brick-built version of Jango's ship. It's similar in shape to the windscreen element used in 75060 Slave I, which is of course the same ship with a fresh paint job. However, the new element is larger by two studs and has more of a slope to it, offering an indication of what could change between the two UCS sets.

As it stands, 75409 Jango Fett's Starship is expected to have almost 1,000 more bricks, which you'd expect would amount to a lot more detail. 75060 Slave I is minifigure scale and we'd expect the same from the UCS model for this year – but with even more room to pose characters in the interior and more space to capture minute details on the exterior. That's all well and good, seeing as the rumoured price is expected to be higher than past May the 4th UCS sets, at $299.99.

Of course, this element registration doesn't 100% confirm 75409 Jango Fett’s Starship – but it does make it feel all that much more likely.
