LEGO Fast & Furious fever strikes again as Suki’s Honda sells out

History is repeating itself as the latest LEGO Speed Champions 2 Fast 2 Furious set is proving very difficult to come by through official channels.

Let’s roll back the clock a second to January 2023, when LEGO Speed Champions’ third movie-inspired car raced on to shelves real and virtual. 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GTR (R34) recreates Brian’s iconic blue and grey car from the second movie in the powerhouse franchise, and initially proved so popular that it sold out within days at LEGO.com and became incredibly hard to find for weeks after release.

With all that in mind, it would have been fair to assume Speed Champions would return to the well of Fast & Furious cars as soon as possible. But despite the series’ potential as a money printing machine, it’s actually taken two and a half years for the latest movie motor to join the starting grid, with 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 debuting at the beginning of this month. And with a faint air of predictability, that too is now on perpetual back order at LEGO.com.

If you tried to order 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 and its exclusive Suki minifigure on release day in the UK, you’ll likely have been met with a back order button, accompanied by the message that the set ‘will be shipped by June 20’. Try today, and you’re looking at waiting until July 15. It’s a similar story in the US, where the 300-piece car is on back order until July 11.

In short, the LEGO Group is struggling to keep up with demand for 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000. But is it any wonder? Not only is this another Fast & Furious car, and the first non-Formula 1 Speed Champions set of 2025, it also marks a couple of firsts for the theme: it’s our first Honda, and our first pink motor. All those factors together make this basically a guaranteed hit. And if you want to get your hands on it as soon as possible, you’ve only got two options (in the UK, anyway).

Your first is to hit up your local B&M store, which appears to be the only other retailer stocking 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 at the moment. But you can’t check stock levels online, so you might be in for a bit of a wild goose chase. For guaranteed success, you’re looking at the dreaded aftermarket, where you can expect to pay over the odds for the chance to build this set in the next few days.

A quick glance at eBay’s sold listings tells us that some fast fans have furiously bitten the bullet to add 77241 2 Fast 2 Furious Honda S2000 to their collection, but for the rest of us, patience is the key here. Brian’s Nissan Skyline is readily available two and a half years later for only £14.99 at Amazon, so chances are that once the dust settles on Suki’s Honda, that too will eventually be widely available – and probably with a nice discount.

The middle ground is placing an order at LEGO.com and playing the waiting game until it ships two or three weeks from now. But the broader message to the LEGO Group here is clearly that LEGO Fast & Furious sets are the way forward for Speed Champions – even if former Design Manager Chris Stamp was quick to assert back in 2023 that the theme ‘isn’t becoming the Fast & Furious series’. You know, maybe it should be…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
