The rumoured LEGO Formula 1 minifigure series might not be what you were expecting, at least according to the latest report.
The LEGO Group is rumoured to be continuing its focus on Formula 1 with a multi-theme campaign in 2025, similar to what we've just had for LEGO Space. As part of that rumour, it's also stated that a Formula 1 Collectible Minifigure series is on the way, but not without a major twist.
Instagram user a.clay.brick reports, with the help of palnetttt, that the April 2025 minifigure series won't have any minifigures at all. Instead, it's calling back directly to LEGO Racers' smallest sets.
The tiny LEGO Racers builds of years gone by feature a single piece for their body, sat in a small car. That concept is said to be back next year but with Formula 1 cars and drivers instead of full Formula 1 minifigures. Specifically, the rumour states that the series will have brick-built Formula 1 cars with heads and helmets sticking out.
This would mean no torsos or legs, but multiple racing suits might look similar after building a few minifigures anyway. Opting for brick-built cars in the blind boxes might mean that there's not enough budget for 12 slots though. With 10 teams, the rumoured LEGO Formula 1 minifigure series could adapt accordingly and still make sense.
This would be a huge change for LEGO Collectible Minifigures but for now, it remains just a rumour and should be taken with caution. Should it be accurate, it offers insight into what classic themes are going to be referenced in the potential year of LEGO Formula 1.
