A tease from an official LEGO Fortnite social media account may be hinting at a potential upcoming LEGO DREAMZzz crossover.
LEGO Fortnite continues to expand its content offerings for players, with the recent Lost Isles update adding plenty to the game and new Marvel and The Incredibles outfits also currently available in the Shop. If that wasn't enough, a mysterious tease has now appeared that suggests another existing LEGO theme may soon be part of the Epic Games title.
The official LEGO Fortnite account on X (formerly Twitter) has dropped a spooky image titled ‘Battle for the Dream World’ and the LEGO Islands hashtag, although there's no release date attached. In addition, the post also states that players should, ‘prepare for the battle between dreams and nightmare!’
Taken at face value, that could well mean a LEGO DREAMZzz-themed Island might be arriving just in time for Halloween. So far this year we’ve had the likes of LEGO Tycoon: Tilted Towers, LEGO Smoothie Odyssey and LEGO Wing Walkers, with a LEGO Pirates Island having kicked off the new game mode back in January.
While all of the trappings of LEGO DREAMZzz are present and correct in the teaser, there are currently no visuals of the theme’s main cast of characters. It may be that the likes of Mateo, Izzie, Cooper and the rest of the Dream Realm’s inhabitants might make an appearance in the new Island, but fans will have to wait and see if that's the case.
The LEGO Group has stated that its Fortnite journey is ‘just beginning’ and has previously promised ‘new world-building, gameplay features and more LEGO style outfits arriving in updates throughout 2024’.
