Latest LEGO Fortnite update truly is the catch of the day

LEGO Fortnite continues to receive regular updates and add-ons, with a new fishing feature now available for players to get to grips with.

The latest update for LEGO Fortnite dropped today, with v28.30 bringing with it a whole host of new items and a previously unseen (but unique) gameplay mechanic. Gone Fishin’ is available to download and install right now, further expanding Epic Games’ brick-built world with even more useful goodies.

First up is the ability to craft a Fishing Rod and then use it to catch fish in the waters of your LEGO Fortnite world. There are four rarities of rod that can be created, with the more impressive versions more likely to land you that elusive catch. Crafting a Bait Bucket is also now possible and combined with the right kind of rod can really help attract exactly the fish you’re looking for.

Speaking of which, the game has also received 15 fish, with different varieties of aquatic life available depending on the biome and water you’re searching in, and also the weather and time of day. It’s also possible for players to catch Legendary versions of each fish and the ability to display them will be added in a future update.

So what can you do with any fish you do manage to acquire? Well, for starters, you can always chuck them in the new Food Processor Station and turn them into Fish Fillets or grill them and make a selection of tasty sushi dishes.

In addition, the Gone Fishin’ updates also adds Sand and Glass to LEGO Fortnite, allowing players to craft many new items. These include the Spyglass, perfect for keeping an eye on enemies from afar, and a Compass to help safely navigate you to where you’re going (and back again).

New Villagers Outcast and Bob now make an appearance in the game, as do more LEGO Style Outfits, the Reflection and Wavebreak Charms and host of other tweaks. Find out more by checking out the Gone Fishin’ update right now and see what you can catch in LEGO Fortnite.
