LEGO Fortnite’s latest patch introduces some huge changes

LEGO Fortnite’s latest update wasn’t long ago but a new patch is being deployed that makes some notably huge changes to the mode.

Despite releasing a major update adding new settings just last week, the team behind LEGO Fortnite are making some amendments to major features of the survival-crafting model. The patch notes on Reddit detail exactly what changes are being made but there are a few highlights to explain.

The crafting bench no longer needs to be upgraded and new recipes will be unlocked as you discover the items used to make them. More recipes are being added to the list of resources you can craft upon placing the bench initially too.

This unfortunately means that the visual changes to the bench will no longer be accessible but the team are working on a way to make these usable once more in the future.

New survival and cosy worlds will also have access to Brite Bomber’s base from the start and there is a set of quests to unlock XP for upgrading her base. This gives less experienced players a safe haven while they learn the ropes of the mode and eventually set out to build a base of their own.

The last major change is that a new glider is being added to LEGO Fortnite that will deplete stamina faster than the existing glider but can be crafted with more easily available resources. You can unlock the recipe by placing a spinning wheel and the existing glider is going to be more effective with stamina usage.

These changes will be coming with the v30.20 update, which is expected to be released tomorrow and will require some downtime. While you wait and before downtime starts, you can play the new LEGO Tycoon: Tilted Towers LEGO Island.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
