LEGO Games developer TT Games isn’t for sale after all

Warner Bros. has responded to claims that two of their studios were being considered for sale, including LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s TT Games.

The latest rumour involving LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga reported that Warner Bros. Interactive was interested in selling game developers NetherRealm Studios and TT Games ahead of their upcoming merger with mass media company Discovery.

You can read the original story for yourself here, but in summary, it seemed that TT Games were going to face another hurdle on the way towards the release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Reacting to these rumours, Warner Bros. has been quick to respond and explain what will happen to the two studios in the near future.

“I can confirm NetherRealm Studios and TT Games will continue to remain a part of Warner Bros. Games, and all are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger,” said Remi Sklar, Senior Vice President of Communications and PR at Warner Bros. Games to TheGamer.

This confirms that the original rumours were incorrect and that TT Games’ fate is still in the hands of Warner Bros. Interactive, or as it may soon be known Warner Bros. Discovery Interactive.

We’ll update you if the story changes but for now, it looks like we know no more than we did before about the future of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. All the same, we can’t help but wonder if the sale of TT Games would have been a good thing for both the company and players.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
