LEGO games you can play for free this weekend

Between Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, you can play a number of LEGO games (sort of) for free this weekend.

If you’re looking for something to play this weekend, what better choice than a brick-built game? LEGO characters have spawned dozens of games over the years and, considering many are classics at this point, they often appear as free-to-play for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass members.

For example, from the start of April, LEGO 2K Drive has been free to play for Xbox Game Pass subscribers and still is, so if you haven’t tried out the LEGO-themed racer, now is your chance. You can use your creativity to build a car to your every specification, using it to take part in races and challenges to unlock more options and vehicles.

You can see what we thought of LEGO 2K Drive at launch by clicking here, plus it’s worth being aware that the latest update has added a pretty impressive amount of content for those who do not own the optional Drive Pass, unlocking bonus vehicles and bricks as an extra purchase.

PlayStation Plus Premium members have even more choice when it comes to free-to-play LEGO games, with a whopping eight titles available through the cheapest tier at the moment. That includes: LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, LEGO Batman: The Videogame, LEGO Harry Potter Collection, LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game, LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga.

Being able to play the entirety of the LEGO Star Wars and Harry Potter collections is well worth a look, with hours of content tucked away within the digital downloads. Nine episodes and various side-missions within LEGO Star Wars will be more than enough for the weekend, while the LEGO Harry Potter collection takes you through all eight movies’ worth of events in the Wizarding World.

For PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers, you can also access LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and The LEGO Movie Videogame right now, offering you even more options if you’ve somehow already played your way through the list above.
