The LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz pairings are…confusing
The pairings for the rumoured LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz, if true, are certainly some interesting choices…
According to LEGO YouTuber Promobricks, amid a flurry of other Potter-related rumours, three new LEGO Harry Potter BrickHeadz could be on their way this year. In the past, we’ve already had 40560 Professors of Hogwarts, including Professors McGonagall, Trelawney, Moody, and Snape, 40495 Harry, Hermione, Ron & Hagrid, and 40496 Voldemort, Nagini & Bellatrix. All three of these groups make sense, made up from characters known to spend time with one another. The rumoured ones? Not so much…
If the rumours are to be believed, 40616 Harry Potter & Cho Chang, 40617 Draco Malfoy & Cedric Diggory, and 40618 Kingsley Shacklebolt BrickHeadz models could be on their way n the coming months. While Kingsley makes sense as his own figure, he’s a slightly random choice. LEGO Harry Potter sets tend to draw from film content and Kingsley played a less in-depth role in the films than he did in the books.
It’s the pairs that have really got us scratching our heads, however. Perhaps the LEGO Harry Potter designers are firm Harry and Cho shippers and wanted to express that through BrickHeadz. Still, considering the pair dated for a few short weeks in Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix, you have to admit it’s not much to go on.
Finally, we come to 40617 Draco Malfoy & Cedric Diggory. Neither boy spent much time with the other at all. In fact, their movie counterparts have barely had a conversation. While both played as their House’s Seeker in Quidditch, that feels like a tenuous link. Still, they’re all new characters to see represented in BrickHeadz form so, even if the logic seems shaky, we’ll take it.
