LEGO Harry Potter 30628 Monster Book of Monsters GWP is back

Last year’s LEGO Harry Potter 30628 Monster Book of Monsters is back in LEGO Stores in the UK, free with qualifying purchases throughout September.

As reported through HUKD, the promo set – which originally debuted in 2020 in the US, China and Europe, before finally launching as a wide gift-with-purchase in January 2021 – is once again free with a £75 spend on LEGO Harry Potter products.

This offer is available exclusively in LEGO Stores at the moment, however, so you won’t be able to redeem it when shopping online. The same is apparently true of 40487 Sailboat Adventure, which is now free in selected LEGO Stores (where stock remains, essentially) with a £200 spend.

30628 Monster Book of Monsters currently sells for upwards of £35 on the secondary market, so you could effectively recoup almost half your Harry Potter spend by cashing in on the freebie. But whether you’re happy to let it go or keen to add it to your collection, it makes this a great time to pick up the newly-released 76391 Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition – as long as you have a LEGO Store nearby.

The returning GWP will be available through September 30, or while stocks last.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
