LEGO Harry Potter sets no longer retiring in 2020

Three LEGO Harry Potter sets that were due to retire this year will reportedly remain in production until at least June 2021.

StoneWars has updated its list of sets retiring soon, removing three Wizarding World sets in the process. 75954 Hogwarts Great Hall, 75953 Hogwarts Whomping Willow and 75957 The Knight Bus have all seen their retirements postponed into next year.

That’s good news for Potterheads who are still playing catch-up. After all, no Hogwarts layout is complete without a Great Hall. And as the LEGO Group looks set to continue releasing annual additions to the wizarding school, now is a great time to go back and grab those you’ve missed out on.

Four Harry Potter sets are still on the chopping block, though, so make sure you don’t sleep on these:

75956 Quidditch Match
75946 Hungarian Horntail Triwizard Challenge
75958 Beauxbatons’ Carriage: Arrival at Hogwarts
75965 The Rise of Voldemort

While 75956 Quidditch Match has lined store shelves since 2018, the other three only launched last year.

Dozens of sets from across the entire LEGO portfolio are due to retire this year. Even if your Harry Potter collection is up to date, then, it’s worth checking out the full list to make sure you don’t miss anything. CITY, Creator Expert, DC, Marvel, Overwatch and Star Wars are just some of the themes with sets on their way out before 2021.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
