LEGO Harry Potter welcomes three new sets for September 1
It’s September 1 and you know what that means in the world of LEGO Harry Potter – time to welcome some new sets to the theme.
It’s time to start thinking ahead to Christmas, with the release of a number of LEGO advent calendars, including 76418 LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar. Visit Hogsmeade each day of December as you build different sections of various wizarding businesses, from Aberforth’s bar to Rosmerta’s cosy pub. The cardboard calendar itself acts as a brightly-coloured backdrop for your small builds and Christmas-jumper-wearing minifigures to rest on.
LEGO Harry Potter fans have been waiting a while for the iconic bank to be replicated in LEGO elements and there’s a lot to unpack across its two levels. Crowned with a brick-built dragon, you can choose whether to display 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank Collectors’ Edition at its full height, or separate it into its two sections, with the white-brick bank itself fitting in smoothly with 75978 Diagon Alley.
Elsewhere, there’s no better time than September 1 to take 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds home with you, a micro-scale version of the castle that appears as though you’re viewing the remote mountains from a distance. Even from afar, you can still see fun addition, such as a miniature flying carriage and underwater ship to welcome foreign students to a tiny Ford Anglia stuck in a particularly vicious Whomping Willow in the grounds.
If you’re planning to take home any of the two larger sets, you’ll automatically qualify for both of the new GWPs, 30651 Quidditch Practice (free with orders above £24 / $40 / €40) and 40568 Gringotts Vault (free with orders above £115 / $130 / €130). The latter pairs neatly with 76417 Gringotts Wizarding Bank – Collectors’ Edition to expand the underground section.
