LEGO Icons 10312 Jazz Club already has another performer

The next Modular Building offers LEGO fans an attractive entertainment venue – and a guest entertainer is currently waiting in the wings.

The LEGO Modular Buildings Collection is one of the most popular LEGO product collections around, with new Modular Building announcements a major event in LEGO fans’ calendars. A new one has appeared each year from 2008 onwards; each one offers a fully enclosed, highly detailed building that can connect to its fellows, instantly producing an attractive street scene.

2023’s building – 10312 Jazz Club – offers two distinct buildings, echoing the design choices of its predecessors. Despite its name the set offers various amenities including a performance area, a pizzeria, a tailor and even a rooftop greenhouse.

The set is also suitable for a variety of live entertainment. A magician complete with top hat and rabbit is including alongside a trio of musicians, and the set reveal immediately reminded us of another LEGO performer that would be perfect for it.

We’re talking, of course, about Jerry Seinfeld – who was immortalised in LEGO form in 2021. Released within the LEGO Ideas theme, 21328 Seinfeld recreates Jerry’s apartment as it appears in the ‘90s sitcom of the same name. Featuring minifigures of Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer and Newman, the set also includes a stretch of brick wall, a table and a microphone – a reference to Jerry’s career in the show as a stand-up comedian.

While that performance area was a great addition to the set, it was also difficult to integrate it into a wider LEGO scene. 10312 Jazz Club may be the perfect remedy to that problem. Official set images reveal a performance area and several seats, finally providing Jerry with the venue he deserves.

If you haven’t added 21328 Seinfeld to your collection yet, you may be out of luck as the set sold out in the US last month. However, it’s available in the UK and Europe at LEGO.com – but it’s due to retire by the end of this year, so don’t delay if you’re interested in buying it. A 30% discount on the RRP of £69.99 / €79.99 may sweeten the deal, especially as the set is very much a display piece rather than a playset.

If you’d prefer to just get Jerry yourself, look out for him on the secondary market. BrickLink prices are surprisingly reasonable for a licensed minifigure, and there are (at least for the moment) plenty of sellers worldwide to choose from as well.

10312 Jazz Club is available at LEGO.com from January 1, 2023 onwards. It’ll cost you £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99.
