Every LEGO Icons set retiring in 2023 and beyond – April update

A LEGO Icons set originally scheduled to retire in 2023 will now hang around on shelves until 2024 – but three modular buildings (and one 90th-anniversary set) are still destined to depart by December.

40516 Everyone is Awesome was once planned to exit production sometime this year, but the LEGO Group has postponed its retirement until the end of 2024. That’s the biggest change to the full list of retirement dates for the current LEGO Icons assortment for April, which also sees the newly-revealed 10317 Land Rover Classic Defender 90 join the rundown.

The latest LEGO Icons vehicle traversed its way to shelves at the beginning of April, and is currently due to be available through the end of 2025. That means you’ve got plenty of time to add 10317 Land Rover Classic Defender 90 to your collection – but the same can’t be said for 10255 Assembly Square, 10270 Bookshop and 10278 Police Station. All three of those sets are still slated to leave shelves by the end of 2023.

It’s the biggest clear-out of the Modular Buildings Collection in recent memory, but those aren’t the only high-profile sets due to retire this year: joining them will be 10497 Galaxy Explorer, 10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander, 10265 Ford Mustang and 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck. These dates are subject to change, so keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for updates on their retiring status.
