Every LEGO Icons set retiring in 2023 and beyond – September update
The LEGO Group has shuffled around the retirement dates of several LEGO Icons sets, while a total of 15 products from the theme are now seemingly locked in to leave shelves in 2023.
Three LEGO Icons sets originally due to retire in 2024 have been pushed back to 2025 as of this month, including 10280 Flower Bouquet, 10281 Bonsai Tree and 10295 Porsche 911. That’s great news for anyone yet to pick up those sets, as you’ve now got even more time to add the earliest Botanical Collection models and one of the best LEGO Icons cars to your own LEGO collection.
But every silver lining has a cloud, as they say, and what those sets have actually done is swap places with three others originally destined to hang around until 2025 – but which will now retire a year sooner than previously anticipated. Those are 10303 Loop Coaster, 10304 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and 10308 Holiday Main Street, all of which are due to leave shelves before the end of 2024.
There’s one more (slightly predictable) change to the LEGO Icons retiring list for September: 10294 Titanic has been pushed back from 2024 all the way to 2026, which will give it a minimum of five years on shelves. The ocean liner is clearly selling incredibly well, which isn’t too surprising given how hard it was to come by at release.
All this is secondary, of course, to the sets that are retiring in 2023 – which you should be prioritising right now, because they could easily sell out any time between now and December 31, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I doubt they will retire 3 modulars at the same time (e.g. dec 31 2023). That would leave only the Boutique and the Jazz club along with the future modular on the shelves.
