LEGO Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory officially revealed

The next fan-designed LEGO Ideas set has been officially revealed: the 2,025-piece 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Originally designed by Roberto Ceruti and Jody Padulano, 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is made up of 2,025 pieces and features nine minifigures, depicting Charlie Bucket, Grandpa Bucket, Willy Wonka, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, Mike Teevee, and two Oompa-Loompas. Based on the 1971 film, the LEGO Ideas set includes various movie-accurate details, many of which are carried through from the original fan design.

That said, the final look and layout of 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is quite different from the first project, despite many of the ideas carrying through from Roberto’s original suggestions.

There’s also a wealth of play features to bring the magical chocolate factory to life, including a dial to set the chocolate waterfall in motion and a secret door that opens into Willy Wonka’s office. The Wonkatania boat is a side build that can be lifted away for play, or sent for a ride down the chocolate river. On the banks, there are plenty of brick-built treats to build and enjoy, such as the teacup plant and candy-cane tree.

LEGO Ideas 21360 Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory will be available to buy from September 15 for LEGO Insiders and from September 18 for everyone else, retailing at £199.99 in the UK, $219.99 in the US, and from €219.99 in Europe.
