LEGO Ideas 40788 Friendly Snails gift-with-purchase revealed

Crawling on to LEGO.com in July comes LEGO Ideas 40788 Friendly Snails, a gift-with-purchase based on a contest-winning fan design.

Inspired by Jagamax’s The Autumn Snails, which took pole position in last year’s Build the Gift with Purchase Set of Your Dreams LEGO Ideas contest, the 264-piece model includes two brick-built snails atop a square base decorated with a log, rock, bee, puddle and various greenery. The snails each feature printed shells and can be detached from the base to display separately.

40788 Friendly Snails will be available with all orders above £145 in the UK, $160 in the US and €160 in Europe from July 1. That’s a nice bonus for anyone splurging on next month’s new releases, such as 43008 Nike Dunk, 76329 Miles Morales’ Mask and 75428 Battle Droid with STAP. Check out a more comprehensive guide to July 2025’s new LEGO sets here.

This release ticks off another LEGO Ideas set from the production pipeline, the remainder of which you can check out in the table below. This list now includes two new additions in the form of the X-Files and Wallace & Gromit, following yesterday’s announcement of the results of the two ‘90s-themed contests.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
