LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons winner reveal delayed to 2023

The winner of the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons challenge was planned for announcement soon, but faces a delay until 2023.

Specifically, the latest post on the LEGO Ideas blog detailing the closure of the fan vote phase of this challenge confirms that we’ll know which of the five finalists will be the first LEGO Dungeons & Dragons model by January 5, 2023.

Originally, this reveal was planned to come by December 19 at the latest, but an unknown issue has caused a couple of weeks of delays in announcing the winner.

Still, it’s not as big a delay as it could have been and with the recent reveals from the LEGO Group for Star Wars, the Modular Buildings Collection and more, saving it for 2023 a few days after dozens of sets launch may be for the best. This new strategy could give us something to look forward to in the years ahead.

The finalists up for the LEGO Ideas Dungeons & Dragons model include The Monster Manual by KolonelPureCake, Tiamat’s Dice Tower by tcompton1234, Xanathar, the Beholder by Shaddowtoa, Transforming Mimic by farmfarm and Dragon’s Keep: Journey’s End by BoltBuilds.

With Dungeons & Dragons celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024, it may make sense to launch the set then. For now, we’ll have to wait until January 5, 2023, to see what fantasy build is joining LEGO Ideas.
