LEGO Ideas’ challenge for a future Disney set is ending soon

There are only a few days left to enter LEGO IdeasDisney challenge for the company’s 100th anniversary which could lead to a future set.

On June 13, 2023, the entry intake period for LEGO Ideas’ Disney 100 challenge will close. The contest started on May 1, giving enthusiasts one month and a half to submit models based on their love for Disney through dioramas, character recreations and more.

At the time of writing and with three days to go, there are 228 entries, falling short of previous contests’ submissions. The builds cover a wide range of Disney productions including Tangled, Mickey and the Beanstalk, Mary Poppins and more.

Entrants can be in with a chance of winning 43227 Villains Icons and 43226 Disney Duos as long as their build makes it to the fan vote. A panel of judges from LEGO Ideas, Disney and Target will determine which models proceed to the fan vote, then it’s up to us to decide which is the winner.

Most excitingly, the winner has a chance of being made into a real LEGO set but note that submissions with new minifigure elements may not stand as good a chance in the judging phase.

The expert review takes place from June 13 to July 4 with the crowd vote following before the winner announcement on September 1.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
