LEGO Ideas Italian Market Van GWP officially revealed

The first official images of 21359 Italian Riviera’s accompanying GWP have now been revealed, but it’s not what was originally announced.

The LEGO Ideas team revealed 21359 Italian Riviera this week, a 3,251-piece model based on Alex Sahli’s winning 10K fan submission. The set features a brick-built recreation of a village by the Mediterranean Sea and comes with a selection of 10 minifigures, including the fan designer himself.

The original press release for the upcoming LEGO Ideas build stated that Insiders members who ordered the set from August 7 to August 13 would also receive a free Mediterranean Scene GWP, but no images of the promotional model were available at the time.

That’s all changed now though, with the revised press release on LEGO.com and an official listing revealing 5009422 Italian Market Van. The 142-piece build features a primarily light blue three-wheeled vehicle, one that’s been inspired by the classic Piaggio Ape model seen on the streets of Italy.

5009422 Italian Market Van boasts opening doors, a lemon tree, a flowerpot and a box with a fish and a starfish, as well as a driver minifigure holding a coffee cup to complete the GWP.

The LEGO Ideas set is officially priced at £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99, but will be free for Insiders members to add to their collections when the promotional period rolls around next month (while stocks last).

LEGO Insiders members can look forwarding to obtaining 21359 Italian Riviera from August 7, as well as 5009422 Italian Market Van from August 7 to 13, plus an A5 notebook reward from August 7 for 1,500 points. The LEGO Ideas set will receive a wider launch from August 10, with the model priced at £249.99 / $299.99 / €279.99.

Might have to MoC a bit more space at the side to fit the GWP on, it needs to be with the full set. So Italian, going to be a beautiful display piece either way gen 2 light kit seamlessly integrated as well from LMB or one of the others.
