LEGO Ideas wants your mini medieval builds

The latest LEGO Ideas activity challenges builders to create a mini medieval model – using no more than 20 pieces.

You’ll need to harness all your miniature model-building skills to take part in this activity, which has clear links to today’s brand new release, LEGO Ideas 21325 Medieval Blacksmith. Where that set uses 2,164 elements, though, you’ll only be able to include 20 in your own build.

Check out the activity page for all the deets, including the deadline (February 9 at 9am UK time), and all the entries so far. As is usual for LEGO Ideas activities, you’re not prohibited from basing your model on a licensed property – so Lord of the Rings builds are fair game, for instance – but it will likely prevent the Ideas team from sharing your build on social media.

There’s also no prize for getting involved (beyond your own sense of personal satisfaction), but if it’s free loot you’re after, LEGO Ideas is currently running a pair of contests with some great prizes up for grabs – including one based on sports and one themed around NINJAGO’s 10th anniversary, in conjunction with the recently-released 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
