LEGO Insiders Reward 6607198 Retro Space Explorer review

LEGO 6607198 Retro Space Explorer rounds out the year for Classic Space fans with a neat thematic LEGO set available through the Insiders Rewards Centre.

6607198 Retro Space Explorer will be available from November 22 as part of this year’s LEGO Insiders Weekend event, to be redeemed at the Insiders Rewards Centre on LEGO.com – while stocks last – for a total of 2,400 Insiders Points.

The 150-piece build features a 3D model of the Classic Space logo mounted on a blue stand, with a micro Classic Spaceship loosely based on the Galaxy Explorer (be that the 1979 original or the 2022 reimagining), piloted by a Classic Space baby astronaut.

It’s a clever build offering both a neat little display and a small playable model that ties in with a previous, popular gift-with-purchase, 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad. The little plaque at the front is printed, whilst picking up another Classic Space baby astronaut is always welcome.

The 2,400 Insiders Points required to pick up 6607198 Retro Space Explorer is the same amount needed to redeem £15 off your next LEGO purchase. That number of points will have required a total spend (without considering double points) of £300.

For collectors and Classic Space fans, though, it’s fair value – the LEGO Group knows that you’ll struggle to resist and at least offers up a fun and unique LEGO set for the transaction.

Is stock only expected to last for the duration of the weekend, or will it likely be around for the whole year?
