LEGO Marvel’s first Fantastic Four set with Galactus has managed to match the character’s comic appearance closer than that of the movie.
A new promotion in partnership with Snapple for The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie has revealed a full look at Ralph Ineson’s Galactus, complete with his outfit as we saw in LEGO form in the recently-revealed 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure.

The movie’s Galactus has a darker colour scheme compared to that of the original comic character, but the shapes and details are all otherwise an overall match the comics. This change in colour scheme, contrasted with the otherwise high accuracy compared to the comics, puts the LEGOMarvel set in an interesting spot.
The colour scheme in the new LEGOMarvel76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure set is much closer to the comics than it is to the movie, with the latter using a distinctly dark purple instead of the brighter variant that his comic counterpart features. Whether by intention or not, the LEGO set aligns with the comic colour scheme almost perfectly.
The lines on movie Galactus’ exposed face are also missing from the LEGO set, This means that 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure is practically ideal for a comic-based LEGO Galactus figure, despite the smaller stature. This might be a result of concept art featuring Galactus with a brighter colour scheme, but in this case the movie inaccuracy has arguably worked out for the better.
Considering the major design changes made to Marvel villains in the transition from comics to films before, including The Mandarin, Ultron, Vulture and the High Evolutionary, Galactus’ latest movie version could have had more changes (and thankfully isn’t too cloud-like this time).
These characters have received Marvel Cinematic Universe minifigures, but some have seen more accurate comic minifigures as well. Thankfully, the first LEGO Galactus is immediately the best of both worlds.
