LEGO Monkie Kid summer 2022 wave debuts online, confirming prices and release date

All three of this summer’s LEGO Monkie Kid sets are now listed at the official online store, confirming how much they’ll cost and when we’ll be able to pick them up.

If you’ve been following the Journey to the West-inspired theme in any capacity until now, you’ll know the drill: beautiful sets that require relatively deep pockets – at least if you want a complete collection. The summer 2022 wave is no exception, comprised of a trio of colourful and varied builds – a vehicle, a dragon and a fortress – that will set you back a total of £294.97 / $389.97 / €329.97.

From a price-per-piece perspective, though, there can be few complaints: buying 80037 Dragon of the East, 80038 Monkie Kid’s Team Van and 80039 The Heavenly Realms will net you a total of 4,719 parts, along with 18 minifigures. There’s nothing to say you need to buy them all, of course, so dive into each individual set below and start adding to your wish list ahead of their launch later this summer.

80037 Dragon of the East

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then. You can follow me on Twitter at @brfa_chris.
