LEGO has a new Disney+ original with a royal line-up

A team of Disney royalty are getting a LEGO makeover in a brand-new original special, coming soon to Disney+.

Thanks to a new trailer, we now know that the LEGO Group has teamed up with Disney for an all-new original TV movie on the streaming platform, called LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest. The film will see Aurora, Snow White, Ariel, Tiana, and Moana team up to take down Gaston. Belle’s villain has teamed up with the Snow White’s evil stepmother’s mirror and imprisoned Ariel’s father, King Triton in a fishtank. Apparently, he seeks to rule both land and sea using Triton’s trident (quite the mouthful).

However, the five Disney princesses are there to stop him, in a movie available to stream from August 18. It’s not yet confirmed how long it will be, but it’s clearly geared towards younger audiences, so we can likely expect a shorter film.

Despite being geared towards kids, there are a few laugh-worthy moments even from the trailer. The princesses are displayed in minidoll form, with some animated brick-built creations in the background, including a mighty fire-breathing dragon under Gaston’s thumb and a somewhat-flawed set of armour made by Snow White.
