LEGO NINJAGO Dragons Rising could revive an old theme

A new clip for NINJAGO Dragons Rising suggests that an old LEGO theme could make a return via the next chapter of NINJAGO

NINJAGO Dragons Rising’s latest clip explains that the theme’s realms have merged into one – the result of the merge teased in previous trailers.

As revealed in the final episode of Possession, Chima from LEGO Legends of Chima is one of the realms in NINJAGO. Though this could have been passed off as a reference, members of the beaver tribe appear later in the series, suggesting that the two themes still cross over.

With all realms now merged into one, it’s entirely possible that Chima could feature in NINJAGO Dragons Rising. Recent footage for the theme has included a wolf minifigure who is able to transform into a larger wolf as well as a frog-like character.

The former is similar to what happens when Chima characters are powered up using Chi. However, it’s worth noting that NINJAGO was home to the snake-like Serpentine before the merge.

A look at the map of the new NINJAGO is revealed in the clip with locations including NINJAGO city featured on the two central islands as normal, but more landmasses have been added around them with cities and new locales to explore. The marked locations include a pyramid, houses, tent, temple, castle and mountain.

Whether Chima appears in the new NINJAGO show or not, the spirit of Legends of Chima lives on in LEGO Dreamzzz
